Field Target Match
July 12, 2003
We again had thirteen shooters at today's match, including another new shooter and some long lost and returning regulars. Too bad that Rick Z. is moving away, we will miss him in future monthly matches, but expect him to return for the "Big Ones". This was the annual match run by the conglomeration of three other MD's at BAGA, as a team effort....again thanks to Vlad, Ron and Dennis for giving me the break I needed. I will try to get back at it for next month, but would still like to rely on you all for . }}. I will try to get back at it for next month, but would still like to rely in making these . Thanks also to Don C. and Brandon for help with course set-up and take down and .
I do want to apologize for some of the delays and the late awarding of the certificates, but will all the extra activities, things got a bit bogged down. Hopefully, Frank's troubles were easily resolved after the tow truck got him to the repair shop. Thanks again to Frank for being a real trooper and hanging in there to complete the match with the knowledge that he may not have a ride home to Iowa afterwards....great shooting for that weighing on your mind throughout the entire match.
The course of fire was the back course and due to last minute set-up, final Troyer ratings have not yet been established for the 52 shots. There was a bit of rumbling about the difficulty of some of the darker targets, but this is good for practice as these types are often found at other shooting clubs. Of course the small KZ's may be more particular to our course. I hope you did enjoy a bit of the respite for the larger KZ's on some of the newer target locations.
It was a very tight race amongst the top shooters but again no need for a shoot-off this week as single points separated the top three shooters. Congrats to Ron for his winning shooting and to Alex (amazingly???) and Don for coming in close behind him. And again congrats to Bill Kushner on his maiden FT match. See you all next month and don't forget to send in your registration for the 2003 Badgerland Regionals.
